About the role

  • As a key member of the Materials team, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to receiving, shipping, and point of use locations and KANBAN locations.
  • This position is responsible for managing internal parts movement within the plant and overseeing two kitting operations to ensure timely and accurate material availability for production.
  • This role is also responsible for the continuous improvement of the department and its team through training and continual learning.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Material department employees in day to day activities Support business goals by leading supply base improvements Maintains knowledge of materials and informs the department of new developments as well as ensures all departments effected by any changes are made aware.
  • Maintains the Material department budget with indirect labour, overtime, materials supplies, communication devices Ensures all ISO procedures and work instruction requirements have been fulfilled by the team.
  • Monitors and reduces negatives to zero, monitor line entry schedule and part status prior to and during the build process.
  • Performs Cell audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
