About the role
- This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for experienced Independent Freight Agents operating under Ascent's brokerage authority.
Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships and secure freight opportunities
- Manage shipments through the full lifecycle from booking to delivery
- Maintain accurate system records and follow company compliance standards
- Dedicated onboarding and operational support
Requirements
- Negotiate rates and handle required shipment documentation
- Active, transferable book of business required
- Strong knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and rate negotiation
- Experience with TMS platforms and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop
