- Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Cost Accountant plays a critical role in driving financial transparency and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time
- may involve walking, stooping, and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- May be exposed to varying weather conditions during travel.
- Occasionally lifts or moves equipment up to 50 lbs.
Nice to have
- Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to cost and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ERP system enhancements.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis.
Skills
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity tools.
- Occasionally lifts or moves equipment up to 50 lbs.; uses safety tools for heavier items.
Compensation
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes related to cost accounting.
