About the role
- Using their discretion and judgement, works with the Senior Managing Director and other regional Managing Directors' in developing, implementing, communicating and monitoring sales strategy for their assigned region (Quebec and French speaking Canada).
Responsibilities
- Works with Senior Managing Director to drive, develop and implement sales strategies, which align with MFS company strategy.
- Monitors industry trends, advises on company product development and develops a long-term strategy for marketing MFS' investment management to institutions to achieve sales goals.
- Acts as an advocate for MFS with each client and help lead and support efforts to retain, grow, and diversify relationships.
- Responsible for preparing sales proposals and client meeting presentation materials by liaising and coordinating with internal parties/departments, such as RFP team, Fund/Product Managers and other related support teams.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitive landscape. Maintain proper record keeping on using MFS C360 for all sales and business activities.
- Partners with the MFS product, institutional portfolio managers, portfolio managers, associate portfolio managers and research analysts when delivering presentations to prospects and clients.
- Works closely with key stakeholders and gatekeepers at major in-region DC Recordkeepers and Platforms to develop strong relationships with distribution partners, brand and new product listings, including assisting MFS team members in the execution of field support strategies for distribution partners.
- Maintain a high level of product expertise for both MFS and non-MFS products. Stay current on industry news, including industry publications, conferences, and seminars. Understanding of legal and regulatory issues and how to manage/articulate these to clients.
- Demonstrated passion for developing and nurturing client relationships.
- Arranges and hosts relevant and appropriate travel in support of these goals.
Requirements
- Minimum 8-12 years' investment-related or financial experience with at least 5 years' experience in direct client-relationship capacity.
- A strong track record in sales and delivering exemplary client service.
- Ability to work independently and a self-starter.
- Excellent verbal presentation skills and written communication skills required.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Post-graduate education in a related area and/or CFA will be an advantage.
- A passion for the investment management business with demonstrable knowledge of investment markets and investment management services and thorough understanding of equity and fixed income instruments and investment strategies.
- Excellent verbal presentation skills and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Meet local license requirements.
