About the role
- The Construction CDL Truck Driver is a skilled craft position responsible for operating dump trucks with different trailer combinations to haul soil, gravel, and other aggregate materials to and from various job sites in a timely manner.
- Whitaker Holdings encompasses multiple companies, including Whitaker Construction, DasCo of Idaho, Advanced Cable Technology, and Bighorn Traffic Services.
- Roles and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the list below.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks pursuant to DOT regulations.
- Maintain the vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions, including daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, glass, etc.
Requirements
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Vehicle fluids and tire air pressures must be checked and serviced daily.
- Any vocational training is strongly desired.
- Those with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.).
- Must hold a Class A CDL.
- Ability to operate construction transport vehicles such as water trucks, dump trucks, side dumps, belly dumps, and flatbeds.
- Must hold a valid Medical Card per Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
- A clean driving record is required.
- Must abide by all DOT requirements for commercial motor vehicle operations.
- Must follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must have maneuvering and backing skills.
- Must maintain accurate time and material records through driver's daily logs.

- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
