About the role
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related computer applications.
Responsibilities
- Engage employers throughout rural Newfoundland and Labrador to identify workforce needs, build partnerships, and promote opportunities for hiring and retaining newcomers.
- Collaborate with Employer Engagement Officers and/or employers to match clients to suitable employment or training placements.
- Maintain confidential, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches to working with diverse populations.
- Provide current information to clients regarding access to support programs and services.
- Support clients in achieving employment goals, leading to integration in local communities.
- Perform other related activities as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to engage clients, employers, and community partners from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
- Specific knowledge of employment trends in rural Newfoundland and Labrador is an asset.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in counselling techniques, career planning, job search support, employer engagement, and knowledge of the changing labour market.
- Travel throughout Central Newfoundland and surrounding communities will be required.
- Valid Class 5 NL driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle is required.
