About the role

  • A Day in the Life As a Senior Manufacturing Manager, you will provide leadership for the production operations within a large Focus Factory, supporting multiple Medtronic Operating Units.
  • Based in Brooklyn Center, MN, this role oversees the manufacturing of batteries or components that power life-saving medical technologies used by patients around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
  • From the R&D lab, to the factory floor, to the conference room, every one of us experiments, creates, builds, improves and solves.
  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Director of Battery Operations, you will lead a team of Production Supervisors and play a key role in driving safety, quality, delivery, and operational performance.
  • You will partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges, develop team capability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Skills

  • Experience driving operational excellence initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Experience utilizing ERP and manufacturing execution systems (MES), including SAP.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues using data-driven problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.
