About the role

  • The Senior Project Surveyor (SME) is a senior technical specialist responsible for delivering high-level boundary analysis, advanced computations, mapping tasks, and complex survey deliverables.
  • This role focuses on deep technical expertise rather than staff management, serving as an internal subject-matter expert for complex or high-risk surveying assignments.
  • This position plays a critical role in elevating the technical quality and consistency of Survey/Mapping deliverables across the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and verify complex boundary analyses using relevant legal principles, statutes, and case law.
  • perform least-squares adjustments as needed.
  • Process and adjust GPS and conventional survey data; perform least-squares adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare drawings, mapping files, and supporting survey documents in collaboration with drafting staff.
  • Maintain high standards for data integrity, record documentation, and file management.
  • Support the Senior Land Survey Manager and PLS staff by contributing to QA/QC practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or carry items ( up to 20 lbs.)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent years of experience in Land Surveying
  • 8-10+ years' relevant survey experience
  • Professional Land Surveyor License (LS),preferred
  • Project Management experience, preferred
  • General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Proficient experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, required.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation

  • $104k-$150k
