About the role
- Recommends new products and improvements to existing products.
- Works with project team on release process, development of project schedules and phase-in process.
- Assures conformance of products to applicable approval agency standards
Responsibilities
- Designs and develops specialized ASME Section VIII Div 1 pressure vessels and heat exchangers for the HVA C, Plumbing and Industrial markets with suggestions from Management, Sales and Marketing Department specifications, competitive product comparison, understanding of hydronic industry, and engineering knowledge and experience.
- Performs theoretical and numerical analysis of structural and thermal characteristics of products. Creates sizing and application procedures for sales literature. Provides analysis to support effort in solution of customer problems and/or applications.
- Manages daily flow of incoming engineering production orders and ensures efficient processing of Engineering Change Orders, submittal drawings and thermal design requests.
- Manages daily activities of ASME design Engineers and Product Designers.
- Works with IT to develop configurators and similar software that interacts with the company's ERP system.
- Checks drawings prepared by product designers or reviews drawings previously checked by a Product Engineer for accuracy and completeness including materials, processes, tolerances, design, function and cost.
- Plans tests and investigations to determine practicability and proof of design
- Becomes familiar with information from other departments affecting assigned products including inventory, tooling, lead times, machine capability, machine capacity, quality, field complaints, returns, sales volumes, forecasts, costs.
- Strives for standardization of designs on related products.

Requirements
- Requires 10-12 years of product engineering
- M inimum of 4 years supervisory / management experience required
- Excellent knowledge of ASME codes, Section VIII, Division 1 and TEMA Standards, AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills
- Verbal and auditory capability are required.
- Ability to work from home will be granted on an ad hoc basis if performance is in good standing.
- Recommends new products and improvements to existing products as required to resolve production or service problems or to reduce costs.
Nice to have
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required, Advanced degree or P.E. certification preferred
- Experience in the HVAC industry preferred

- $108,421 - $151,789 USD
