About the role

  • OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (ONC) seeks to reduce partisanship and promote effective solutions to America's challenges.
  • Powered by America's youth, we host a media outlet, produce educational materials and facilitate dialogue intended to make America a better country.
  • The Editorial Desk is one of the last sets of eyes on everything ONC produces, including but not limited to books, policy proposals, solutions, op-eds, and newsletters.

Responsibilities

  • Edit written content to maintain grammatical integrity for the ONC website and mobile app.
  • Fact-check written content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.
  • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines.

Requirements

  • However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

Skills

  • Current student working towards a degree in English or Literature, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, and/or related fields.
  • Exceptional writing skills are required (English).
  • Proficient verbal communication/speaking skills are a plus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Prior editing experience preferred, specifically with AP style.
  • Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator.
  • Google Workspace experience preferred.
  • Ability to attend Organization-Wide meetings every other week.
  • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
