About the role
- Liaison with Workout Officers for the purpose of facilitating underwriting approval memos and Problem Loan Management Reports.
- Includes tracking the receipt of financial statements, ordering appraisals, compliance with covenants, and borrowing base certificates.
- Attend client meetings with Relationship Managers in order to gain a thorough understanding of the client and their business in order to effectively assist in effective management of the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Support portfolio management efforts by completing due diligence on clients including: trade reference verification, credit reports and industry/company research.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as requested by management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or four years of equivalent related experience.
- 5 years of commercial lending or commercial credit experience.
- Solid knowledge of personal computers.
- Thorough knowledge of various software programs: Word, Excel and other departmental software.
- Knowledge of credit principles.
- Ability to interact with external and internal personnel using tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work under critical time constraints.
Nice to have
- Bankruptcy experience preferred.
Skills
- Requires very strong financial analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
Compensation
- M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
- The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $171,600.00 Annual (USD).
- The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
