About the role
- Copper is looking for an experienced government grant writer to report on existing grants and apply for new grants, particularly with NYSERDA and DOE.
- The role starts as a three month, full-time contract.
- If it's a good fit on both sides and our grant writing needs continue to grow, there's a real possibility this becomes a permanent, full-time role at the end of the contract.
Responsibilities
- After that, you'll own quarterly reporting on our DOE grant. You'll work from existing scaffolding and prior submissions, check in with us to confirm details, and keep us on schedule.
- This will also include working with project managers on the side of the grant management organizations to update on our progress and manage expected deliverables.
- Along the way, we'd love your help building up a library of reusable content (company background, technology descriptions, project narratives) that we can pull from for future applications.
- At times you will need to start from a blank page, but you'll also have pre-existing documentation and clear prompts when you're asked to create new documents.
- The ability to manage your own time and stay in touch with us as you go. This is a contract role and we'll trust you to keep things moving.
- An easy ability to work with people and build relationships with grant program managers and Copper staff.
- After that, you'll own quarterly reporting on our DOE grant.
- The ability to manage your own time and stay in touch with us as you go.
Compensation
- $131-148,000/year salary ($32,500-37,000 for the 13-week contract term).
- This is a fixed-term W2 role for three months, full-time.
- We'll provide scope, source material, and access to the people on our team who can answer questions.
- We will provide you with a laptop.
- At the end of the three months, if things are going well and our grant writing needs continue to grow, there may be a possibility to convert this into a full-time, permanent role with salary, benefits, and equity.
- We're hoping to start as soon as we can find the right person.
Benefits
- State energy commission or Departments of Energy, Defense, Health and Human Services, or something similar would be especially helpful, but it isn't a hard requirement.
