About the role

  • We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Mechanical Technician who possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline systems, turbines, gas measurement facilities, and other related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments
  • Perform pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repair, clearing and inspection of right-of-way, and assisting with tie-ins of mainline valves
  • Perform pipeline locates through the Ohio Utility Protection Services (OUPS) or 811 system
  • Operate compressor engines and support equipment
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired turbines, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment
  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAP

Requirements

  • This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Complete required Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company documentation
  • Other tasks as required

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of turbines and standby generators
  • Knowledge of regulators and/or meters
  • Industrial experience in a plant environment
  • Experience locating and marking subsurface pipeline infrastructure
  • This position requires candidates to:
  • Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes
  • Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditions
  • Driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position.
