About the role

Assist in the recruitment process that meets the target application numbers and demographic goals.
Monitor the performance and engagement of all Scholars in the assigned cohort; track and analyze Scholar attendance, assignment completion, assessments and grades in SEO Scholars classes, high school courses, and standardized test scores.
Upload and update Scholar information into Salesforce for 10th Grade Scholar caseload, such as updating official program enrollment status.

Responsibilities

Support Scholars by referring Scholars to IT support email as needed.
Develop and refine advisory content, including whole group, small group, and one-on one advising content based on feedback from assigned cohort and in collaboration with the larger team.
Facilitate weekly/bi-weekly instructor check-in meetings to gather information about Scholar performance and advise on action plans to support Scholars.
Collaborate with the Scholars Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) team and instructors to support Scholars for successful completion of coursework.
Foster and maintain relationships with parents, guardians, school partners, volunteers, and community/corporate partners as needed to improve student experience, performance, and retention.
Build and maintain relationships with parents, school counselors/advisors, teachers, and community partners in support of Scholars' success.
The position will partner closely with peers locally and nationally to manage the advisement and performance of a cohort of 60-70 public high school sophomores.
Through group facilitation, workshops, community circles, class observations, and 1-on-1 advising, you will help Scholars develop holistically.
Beyond ensuring a rigorous academic environment, you will be tasked with effectively building the academic and socio-emotional foundation to successfully navigate high school, college, and career, including but not limited to our Scholars' academic mindsets, effective study habits, awareness of identity, and SEL skills.
Coordinate with supervisor and program operations personnel and implement hybrid SEO Scholars programming on Saturdays online and in-person and after school online in the fall and spring semesters, and online and in-person during the summer for five weeks.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
Demonstrated ability to execute on short-term, deadline-driven tasks, as well as important long- term projects requiring collaboration with internal and external constituencies
In-person attendance is required for all Community Day programming dates
Two weeks of in-person attendance will be required during our College Application
This is a full-time, exempt position with a hybrid schedule requiring in-person work three days a week (including required Saturdays) and virtual work two days a week. The typical weekly schedule is as follows:
100% of Scholars are accepted into four-year colleges, 85% of Scholars graduate with a Bachelor's degree, and 80% are first-generation college graduates.
Direct experience working with high school-age students. 2+ years' public teaching experience strongly preferred.
A background in student coaching and advising, including direct experience interfacing with parents and families.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite

Ability to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule from September to June and some evenings, as needed

Compensation

$57,690 - $65,700
