Requirements
- An associate degree in a related field is required.
- Three years of experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other clinical setting required.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet is required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice to have
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in relation to admissions.
- Facilitates pre-certifications and re-certifications for insurance patients.
- Acts as initial point of contact for most of the patient records coming into the life plan community.
- Willingly and consistently shares observations and insights of departmental operations that may improve quality and efficiencies of department.
- Attends all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled or as directed.
- Attends events to network with referral sources, which may be in the early morning or evening.
- Handles referrals appropriately that the life plan community is not able to take.
- Visits hospitals to meet with residents and prospects and prior to new patient or resident admission as necessary.
