About the role

  • As a Field Technician I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication services for our customers by performing installations, fusion splicing, network maintenance, and supporting the repair process.
  • In the role of the Field Technician I, you will diagnose and address technical issues within the network or at a customer's home with occasional assistants, all while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper work cleanliness, attic safety, drilling safety, & proper wall drops
  • Perform fusion splicing of fiber drop cables at customer premises, ensuring proper fiber preparation and splice enclosure management
  • Maintain 4.0 Star Rating
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a technical support role or related field

Requirements

  • In a typical work day, the employee will be required to:
  • Travel: Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • If not applicable, must meet required number of years of experience
  • Required Skills / Abilities:

Skills

  • A valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle
  • Familiarize with routing, switching, and fiber optic transmission/equipment basics
  • Understand outdoor engineering prints of network layout
  • Learn the basics of fusion splicing, including preparing fibers for splicing and managing splice closures
  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation

Compensation

  • $12k-$60k
