About the role
- The Department of Supportive Care (DSC) is made up of three divisions - Psychosocial Oncology (PSO), Cancer Rehab & Survivorship, and Palliative Care.
- Providing positive patient experiences in an outpatient clinical setting, meeting quality standards set out by UHN including registering patients, as needed, in UHN's EPIC EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system, Epic
- Ensuring efficient operation of the office, clinic spaces and front desks, within scope of authority
Responsibilities
- This position is to support the PSO at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
- Support the timely and efficient processing of incoming referrals, scheduling/rescheduling of patient appointments, responding to patients' general inquiries, and cancelling patient appointments
- Complete administrative tasks that support data entry for patient tracking requirements and maintaining several electronic calendars
- Two (2) years related administrative support experience
Requirements
- Experience working with EPIC EMR for managing referrals, appointment scheduling, and standard clinical operations is required
- Experience working with database and spreadsheet software is an asset
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment is an asset
Nice to have
- Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing in a Microsoft Office environment is preferred

- Provide cross-coverage support as a member of an operational administrative team
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary office/medical administration program at the certificate level or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
