About the role
- D-Wave is seeking a Staff Benchmarking / HDP Researcher to join our Algorithms, Performance, and Tools team.
- This is an opportunity to contribute at the forefront of quantum computing, enabling solutions used by leading organizations across industry, government, and academia.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex research and development initiatives focused on benchmarking, characterization, and performance optimization of quantum computing systems.
- Develop scalable benchmarking frameworks, tools, and processes that improve research efficiency, technical rigor, and decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with physicists, computer scientists, software developers, product teams, and other domain experts to integrate multidisciplinary insights into research initiatives.
Requirements
- Success in this role requires deep algorithmic expertise, strong scientific judgment, and the ability to translate complex research into practical improvements that advance system performance and scalability.
- Deep proficiency in Python
- experience with C++ is an asset.
