Responsibilities
- Perform underground splicing, terminating and cable pulling
- Terminate and maintain primary conductors, quick splice, H Splice, BLR's, reducing taps, etc
- Terminate and maintain secondary conductors and installing limiters, fuse's, moles on Network distributed Grid system (Energized or De-energized)
Requirements
- Each employee must become familiar with safety procedures and rules applicable to their job and are required to follow
- Two pieces of valid Government issued ID will be required.
- Applicants will be required to provide a current driver's abstract (those with more than 6 demerits will not be considered) and must be able to meet ENMAX's insurance requirements.
- High School Diploma Including Math 20-2 and Physics 20 (or equivalent)
- Valid Class 5 (Non GDL) Province of Alberta Driver's license with no more than 6 demerits
- A strong commitment to safety
- Interest in hands-on, practical work

Compensation
- 1st year apprentice - 60% of Journeyperson rate ($41.25 per hour)
- 2nd year apprentice - 65% of Journeyperson rate ($44.69 per hour)
- 3rd year apprentice - 75% of Journeyperson rate ($51.56 per hour)
- 4th year apprentice - 85% of Journeyperson rate ($58.44 per hour)
- Journeyperson Rate - $68.75 per hour (Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, participants may qualify to work as a Journeyperson Powerline Technician, supporting the construction and maintenance of ENMAX's electrical distribution system.
