Job Description Template - Space Sector Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Principal/Sr.

Manage projects and coordinate all procurements and installation to meet the program cost and schedule requirements for capital upgrades.
Provide engineering design as needed to support the Facilities Engineering Department.
Design mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for chemical plant systems including boiler feed and condensate, water treatment, hydraulic, heat transfer systems, conveying systems, and air and gas systems.
Prepare design calculations and specifications for major plant related equipment including, but not limited to heat exchangers, industrial chillers, cooling towers, boilers, condensers, and pumps.
Prepare mechanical engineering designs, including layout, design sketches, and conceptual design.
Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
Develop schedules, work assignments and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion.
Providing detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation
Review engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability and functionality.

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of professional experience - OR.
Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR.
PhD with 1 year of professional experience.

Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience - OR.
PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

$122,800.00 - $184,200.00
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
