About the role

An Area Superintendent in construction acts as the senior on-site leader responsible for directing all field operations, subcontractor coordination, safety compliance, and quality control for a specific, large-scale area of a project or multiple smaller sites.
They ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to specifications.

Oversees daily field operations, ensuring compliance with construction documents, structural plans, and quality standards
Creates and updates lookahead schedules, coordinating subcontractor work, deliveries, and equipment to prevent bottlenecks.
Coordinates with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to manage labor, material, and cost control
Maintains daily logs, reports, and photos of site activity
Extensive field experience, often 5-10 years, with profound knowledge of building trades, methods, and codes.
Strong ability to lead, direct, and motivate, especially with union labor or multiple trades.

Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build) and scheduling tools.
