About the role

As a Staff Accountant - Fanatics Markets & Emerging Businesses, you will play a hands-on role in the day-to-day accounting operations supporting Fanatics' prediction markets platform and other emerging business lines.
This role is responsible for executing key components of the month-end close process, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements across multiple legal entities.

Responsibilities

Support general ledger maintenance and ensure transactions are accurately recorded across legal entities
Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and gathering supporting documentation
Support Technical Accounting with documentation and analysis for complex or non-routine transactions
Collaborate with business stakeholders as needed to gather information and ensure transactions are properly captured
Assist with ad hoc projects and analysis as needed to support the broader accounting team

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
1-3 years of accounting experience
Working knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles
CPA candidate preferred; active progress toward CPA a plus
1-3 years of accounting experience; recent graduates with relevant internship experience encouraged to apply
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems a plus
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Eagerness to learn and grow in a complex, evolving business environment

Nice to have

CPA candidate preferred
active progress toward CPA a plus
Proficiency in Excel
experience with ERP or accounting systems a plus

Compensation

$70,000 - $85,000 USD
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
