About the role

  • Join the Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG), a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team of forward-deployed engineers and data scientists at the forefront of applied analytics at BlackRock.
  • The team works across the full spectrum of asset classes-including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and private markets-providing exposure to a diverse range of investment strategies, products, and client needs.
  • PAG sits at the intersection of technology, analytics, and business, partnering directly with stakeholders to translate complex challenges into scalable, impactful solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of complex, cross-functional analytics initiatives.
  • Develop analytical products and frameworks that empower product teams, sales organizations, and clients.
  • Partner closely with technical partners, product leaders, and client teams to define and execute against strategic roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience across financial markets, analytics, and software engineering.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of accountability, resilience, and follow-through.
  • Success requires the ability to bridge sophisticated analytical concepts and practical business needs, creating fit-for-purpose solutions that integrate seamlessly into established workflows.
  • Equally important are the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and a solid understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  • Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.

Skills

  • Strong Python programming skills and experience working with large-scale analytical systems and production-quality codebases.

Compensation

  • For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$180,000.00 - USD$215,000.00.
