About the role

Responsibilities
- Review bond documents for permitted investments, valuation methodologies, flows of funds, and other factors that drive investment analysis and recommendations.
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets and models for analyzing investment alternatives and presenting various scenarios.
- Use Excel, visual basic & macros to optimize modeling and quantitative analysis in an efficient manner.
- Support client marketing and proposal efforts through the development of analysis and corresponding presentation materials.
- We draw on live market information from Bloomberg and utilize a combination of Excel models and portfolio optimization software to develop sample portfolios and breakeven analyses (as applicable) to evaluate with our clients.
Requirements
- Ability to be productive both independently and in a team environment.
- MSRB Series 50 certification or ability to obtain certification within approximately four months of hire with assistance from PFM.
- Expertise with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks, following up as necessary, and managing up as appropriate to ensure completion.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (minimum GPA of 3.5 preferred).
- Prior experience writing and developing macros in Excel to automate models preferred, but not required.
Compensation
- The anticipated base salary for the Analyst role is $72,000.
- For applicants with relevant experience, the anticipated base salary for the Senior Analyst role is between $80,000 - $90,000; this position is eligible for annual performance-based bonuses.
