About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic I plays a key role in supporting both field and shop operations by maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a wide range of tools and equipment used across the organization.
This position is responsible for examining, dismantling, assembling, adjusting, and testing tools to ensure safe and reliable performance.
The role involves operating power tools, performing various shop and field duties, and assisting with operations, maintenance, and construction activities as directed.

Able to professionally represent Company and maintain good working relationships while communicating with other employees and contractors.
May be assigned to related business support and administrative activities (ex. backend meter processing, backend corrosion processing, backend leak/damager prevention processing, peer safety observations, vehicle clean-out, cross functional training activities, etc.)
Drive vehicles to job sites.

Internal Employees: Must currently be a crew assistant or greater in Below Ground Field Ops with at least 2 years consecutive experience & currently have a CDL-Class B
External Employees: Must have at least 2 year's experience drilling, tapping and stopping pipe and/or fittings using equipment utilized by the Welding, Tie In & Fabrication Shop on Washington Gas facilities
FMC, CDL-Class B, Operating Engineer-Class A, PPJ-Fusion and Forklift qualification are required.

Fuse plastic mains and manufactured plastic fittings.
Monitor pressure gauges continuously during stop-off operations.
Operate core drill.
Operate equipment utilized to reduce carbon emissions including drawdown compressor and flaring.
Cut steel, plastic and cast-iron pipe by various means/methods.

We offer a competitive starting pay rate of $34.33/hour.
