About the role
- The Parks Technician performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the operation and maintenance of municipal park assets including parks, grounds, open space, right of ways, athletic fields, and commercial facilities including all associated facility structures and buildings.

- Performs skilled manual and technical work involved in the maintenance and operation of public grounds and facilities.
Requirements
- At least (2) two years of experience directly related to landscape maintenance
Nice to have
- Experience in landscape maintenance
- Experience in pesticide application
- Experience in turfgrass management and maintenance
- Experience in operating and maintaining irrigation systems
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and maintenance tools
- Athletic field layouts/dimensions and particular maintenance requirements
- Maintenance and repair of irrigation systems
- Policies and procedures for record keeping
Skills
- Skill in performing tool and equipment maintenance activities
- Adjusting equipment appropriately
- Using supplies safely and efficiently
- Transporting and operating equipment safely
- Abilities:
- Ability to use standard office equipment, personal computer, and job-related computer applications including electronic mail.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to operate and receive training on various types of equipment.
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
- Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement or shall get this license within the first (6) six months of hire
- Sustainable Landscape Management (Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado) within the first (12) twelve months.
