About the role
- The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) is seeking a detail-oriented Instrumentation Technician to join our research team.
- In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various scientific instruments and data acquisition systems used in our state-of-the-art testing labs.
- Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of data acquisition systems and sensors.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation equipment used in laboratory and field test environments.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and implement new instrumentation solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and inspection activities.
- Assist in data collection and preliminary analysis as needed to support research projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Your work will support critical research aimed at improving the resilience of homes and businesses against severe weather events.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience with installation, calibration, and maintenance of scientific instruments and data acquisition systems.
Nice to have
- Bachelors degree or higher in instrumentation technology, electronics, engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
