About the role
- As an Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization adheres to the highest standards of animal welfare and ethical practices.
- FACTA is a nationally recognized leader in designing cutting-edge and pragmatic Animal Welfare training, verification, and certification tools.
Responsibilities
- Begin to develop cross species skills and expanding knowledge of other animal welfare sectors.
- Maintain confidentiality about all aspects of work and adhere to all procedures established by FACTA and its auditing clients.
- Escalate risks and issues beyond own experience or skill set.
- Maintain professional skepticism including consideration of alternative and disconfirming evidence.
Requirements
- Animal welfare or animal husbandry exposure is required.
- Computer proficiency required with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently, follow through on all assignments and meet deadlines.
- Possess working knowledge of livestock handling tools.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Bachelor's degree and education related to animal production and welfare is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience and/or training in swine production or welfare (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered). Please note this does not include veterinary care for domestic animals.
- Hold an active PAACO Certification (Swine).
- Possess a U.S. passport or real ID.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to travel to on-site audits.
- Working on farm may require walking for for several miles in uneven terrain, sitting for extended periods, standing for extended periods, kneeling, crouching, and working in varying temperatures.
