About the role

  • Reporting to the Manager of CovWorks-Shelter, the Career Preparation Facilitator is responsible for providing instruction to youth via in-person or virtual.
  • The facilitator will help youth meet necessary goals and prepare them for employment, postsecondary coursework, GED preparation, and/or vocational training.
  • (Responsibilities to include but are not limited to the following) Prepare lesson plans and course materials for face-to-face and online instruction that maximize student learning job readiness areas: mock interviewing, resume writing, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a roster of 10 students for each class.
  • Collaborate with Supervisor and/or other departments to review, evaluate and, if necessary, revise program.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, pre and post-test hours and progress.
  • Implement best practices for the retention and recruitment of students.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and youth.
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet.
  • Must have a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
  • Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Bi-lingual [English/Spanish] a plus.

Skills

  • Evaluate student progress regularly, with an emphasis on life and interview skills.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills English, including academic report writing.

Compensation

  • $16k-$24k
