Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and enhance Barton Malow Canada's substation capabilities.
  • Lead daily construction execution and ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality, schedule, contractual and financial targets.
  • Support the development of Installation Work Packages & Inspection Test Plans.
  • Monitor self-perform and subcontractor performance including productivity tracking and/or earned value.
  • Manage substation subcontractors' performance, ensuring scope alignment, quality, and timely execution.
  • Support the project team to complete weekly schedule updates are provided and incorporated in the project schedule, ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of electrical construction experience with 5 years of high-voltage and substation experience.
  • 5 years' experience in a supervisory or superintendent role.
  • Experience in energy, renewables, industrial, or utility electrical construction.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, drawings, standards, and installation practices.
  • Proven experience with substation or transmission line installation and commissioning is an required.
  • Must be able to work on project site, and open to relocation for future projects.

Compensation

  • $130,000 - $160,000
  • Base salary is $130,000 - $160,000, dependent on candidate job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Eligibility to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive Compensation Program (ICP).

  • The Substation Superintendent will work closely with and collaborate with the Project Manager, provide leadership to the substation teams and subcontractors, coordinate closely with engineering and other disciplines, and serve as the primary onsite representative for all substation scope execution.
