About the role
- Good communications skills are essential as this position is remote.
- This is a short-term contract field position with work performed on site, mostly in the Caribbean.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on water treatment equipment and instrumentation.
- Support and follow implementation of safe work practices, including adherence to OSHA standards and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and equipment checklists.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SWRO treatment systems is essential along with experience in sewage treatment plants preferably MBR.
- The ideal candidate will work hands-on with rotating equipment, control system and chemical handling.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a field technician or operations role, preferably in water or environmental services.
- Travel to various project sites as required
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Skills
- Technical diploma or certification in Environmental Science, Water Treatment, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, filtration systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Water Treatment Operator Certification
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools is an asset.
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
- A valid driver's licence, passport, and access to a vehicle.
