Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating plant collection and distribution equipment such as aerators, filters, pumps, lift stations, aeration basins, anoxic basins, instrumentation, motors, clarifiers, chemical feed systems, blowers, mixers, generators, lighting, chlorinators, rake drives, bar screens, storage tanks, meters, air compressors, sludge dewatering equipment, and other similarly related plant components and equipment.
- Maintain and adjust equipment to achieve the best possible treatment results and to maintain compliance with the plant operating permit.
- Perform daily checks of the facility to document operational status and maintenance requirements.
Requirements
- On-call, incentives offer $200 for the week you are on call (this is on a rotation).
- Accrued based on years of experience and calculated on hours worked
Nice to have
- High School or trade school diploma is required.
- Courses in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance are a plus.
- A valid driver's license.
- Minimum of seven years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- State of Florida Class C Collection certification.
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office programs, computerized maintenance programs and computerized databases including SCADA.
- Experience with the maintenance of pumps, compressors, and plumbing fixtures.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the routine, preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks that are assigned by the project's maintenance repair program. The water and wastewater utility includes one water plant, one wastewater plant, a collection system with six lift stations, a distribution system and meters. We take pride in caring for these facilities, both inside and out, and are looking for a conscientious Maintenance Mechanic to help us maintain our standards for providing safe, clean water to the community!
