About the role
- This role will be critical in ensuring a smooth knowledge transfer, long-term architectural ownership, and continued innovation within our team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Web Modernization Strategy
- Partner with the modernization team to replatform our software to a cloud-native web architecture.
- Lead architecture discussions and perform high-quality code reviews.
- Mentor and develop mid- and junior-level engineers, helping manage a team of up to 4 direct reports across the strategic side of our business.
- Drive AI-Assisted Development Practices

Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
- 3+ years in a senior technical leadership role (Director, Principal, Manager, Staff+).
- Strong hands-on experience with C# /.NET, Azure cloud architecture, React / TypeScript, and SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Experience modernizing or replatforming complex legacy systems.
- Comfort working in AI-assisted development environments (e.g., Copilot, agent-based workflows, automated code generation, LLM-integrated tooling).
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading delivery execution.
Nice to have
- Experience rewriting legacy desktop applications (Delphi or Titanium SDK).
- Familiarity with fire, EMS, or public safety software.
- Experience working in fast-paced or startup-like environments.
