About the role
- The Scrap Room Technician is responsible for the unloading, receiving, and processing (SAP Goods Receipt) of all inbound aluminum coils.
- This person is also responsible for handling all of the processing of scrap materials in the scrap room.
- This includes, but is not limited to, weighing, processing (SAP BOL creation), and loading scrap onto trucks for outbound shipment.
Responsibilities
- They are responsible to deliver the coils to the line for consumption as well as removal of all dunnage and packaging materials following processing.
- Deliver coils to the point of use i.e. coil handling equipment located in production area.
- Prioritize work in order to support production and ensure uninterrupted plant operation through on-time delivery of raw materials and efficient removal of process scrap.
- Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Requirements
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Record pre-use checks in the provided system or the vehicle logbook as required.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of CP systems, including performing internal audits as required.
- Ability to operate a forklift is required.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to work in an environment that can become very hot (temperature) depending on the weather.
Nice to have
- Engineering or Technical Degree preferred.
- Previous forklift experience highly preferred.
