- Job Description Manheim Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector There are multiple open positions.
- Job Description (Applies to All Levels) The Mobile Inspector functions as a key member of the Manheim Mobile Inspections team, responsible for conducting on‑site vehicle condition inspections for dealer clients within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Accurately document vehicle condition and data in inspection systems
- Develop working knowledge of inspection standards and client expectations
- Build strong working relationships with dealer clients
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and team collaboration
- Perform advanced and high‑complexity vehicle inspections
- Support onboarding and development of less experienced Mobile Inspectors
- Maintain strong dealer relationships and inspection quality standards
- Inspect and document vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
- Inspect and document interior condition, including seating, dashboard, and installed options.
- Perform basic mechanical checks across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required
- Ability to meet physical and mental demands of the role within required timeframes
- or 5 years' experience in a related field.
- The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years' experience
- or 7 years' experience in related field.
- Previous vehicle inspection experience required
- Strong automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) required
- 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections recommended

- Minimal automotive knowledge preferred (body and mechanical)
- 0-1 years of automotive‑related experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field.

- 1-2 years of automotive‑related experience preferred
- High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years' experience in a related field.
- 2-3 years of automotive‑related experience strongly preferred
Compensation
- Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour.
- The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
- Hourly Pay Range
- $18.17 - $22.69 - $27.21 per hour
- $19.90 - $24.86 - $29.81 per hour

- Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
