About the role

  • As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and customer delivery.
  • This role combines hands-on software development with consulting and customer success.

Responsibilities

  • SpruceID builds privacy-preserving, standards-based digital identity and credentialing solutions that give individuals control of their information while enabling governments and enterprises to deliver secure, interoperable services.
  • We partner with public-sector organizations to modernize how identity is issued, verified, and used.
  • You will work directly with state governments and other public sector partners to design, build, and deploy solutions that solve real-world identity challenges.
  • You will represent SpruceID on the ground with our partners, ensuring our technology is deployed effectively and with lasting impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience shipping backend software in statically typed languages, such as C#, Rust, Go, or Java.
  • Experience shipping modern web frontends that meet accessibility and security standards
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and devops practices
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts and deliver production systems
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with customers, ideally in a consulting or delivery role
  • Based in the US and excited to engage directly with state government partners

Compensation

  • $150k-$175k
