About the role
- The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with applicable electrical codes, company safety policies, and project specifications.
- This role requires a strong working knowledge of electrical systems, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team to complete electrical installations safely and efficiently.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in commercial, industrial, and oilfield environments.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and clamp meters.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
Nice to have
- Experience in industrial, automation, or oil and gas electrical systems.
- Knowledge of motor controls, instrumentation, and PLC systems.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- H2S Awareness training.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Skills
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
