About the role
- This includes managing routers, switches, and firewalls, implementing cybersecurity directives, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, conduct bandwidth analysis, and optimize resource usage.
- Implement DoD cybersecurity requirements (STIGs, ACAS scans, TCNOs) and maintain vulnerability compliance index (VCI) ≤ 3.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, SOPs, and security compliance reports.
- Perform firmware updates, patching, and configuration changes for network equipment.
- Support disaster recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) testing.
- Provide support for system integration and testing of upgrades, ensuring Air Force and DHA compatibility.
- Ability to analyze system logs, troubleshoot network outages, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship ( required for CAC and installation access ).
- Active Secret Clearance (must be maintained).
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in network administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, subnetting, and routing protocols (OSPF/EIGRP).
- Experience with Cisco/Juniper or equivalent enterprise network hardware.
- Proficiency in firewall configuration and security hardening.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and requirements (STIGs, ACAS, RMF).
- Required Certifications CompTIA Security+ (baseline DoD 8570 requirement).
