About the role
- Directs and coordinates the daily activities of the manufacturing areas to include meat manufacturing and sanitation to meet or exceed plant's KPIs in order to achieve business results.
Responsibilities
- With support from HR and L&D, build and maintain an effective supervisory team.
Requirements
- Partner with Maintenance and Reliability teams to ensure required preventive maintenance is being performed on all department equipment.
- Bachelor's degree or work experience/knowledge equivalent to such degree is required.
- The ability to be on your feet and walking the facility for lengthy time periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in a damp and cold work area.

- Take corrective measures to address any gaps within area of responsibility.
- Supervise and provide directions for team members engaged in production, sanitation, cooking and chilling.
- Analyze operation on a continual basis to improve costs, quality and service.
- Evaluate staffing needs on a weekly basis.
- Work closely with the USDA Inspector to ensure that all USDA Regulations are adhered to and deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner.
- Review USDA NR reports and learn to respond to the corrective actions necessary in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in the research, justification, and implementation in long-range planning of the facility.

- Actively participate/support in the management of department functions that include the following: Production Scheduling, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, Area Sanitation, Heat Processing, Product Chilling and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Plant Manager.
