About the role

  • We're looking for a People Operations Specialist to be the backbone of HappyRobot's people function - the person employees go to with questions, and the person who makes sure everything behind the scenes actually works.
  • This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who takes real pride in clean data, closed loops, and being the teammate everyone can count on.
  • You'll keep our HRIS (Rippling) accurate and current, navigate the compliance complexity that comes with hiring across multiple countries, and automate the repetitive parts of the job rather than grinding through them manually.

Responsibilities

  • Own onboarding. From offer signed to their first day, you'll make sure every transition runs smoothly. That covers background checks, work authorization, equipment and access coordination, and a first week that sets new hires up to succeed.
  • Manage our PEO and EOR partners.
  • You'll own day-to-day coordination with our PEO for employees in the US, Spain, and the UK, and with our EOR partners across EMEA and LATAM.
  • Keep our HRIS clean and running. You'll own employee records, status changes, and data integrity in Rippling. Clean data is the foundation everything else is built on.
  • Help build people programs. Beyond operations, you'll help with engagement initiatives, policy updates, team events, and whatever else the team needs as the function matures.
  • HappyRobot is the infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years in HR, People Operations, or a generalist People role, ideally at a tech company or fast-growing startup.
  • Comfort with international HR complexity.
  • You have a strong understanding of local employment law and compliance that guide your decisions and help shape our operations.
  • You know what you don't know and you know who to call.

Nice to have

  • Experience coordinating global immigration cases with outside counsel
  • Experience working with a PEO and EORs
  • Spanish or French language skills
