About the role

  • Red Hat's North American Public Sector Customer Success team is looking for an experienced enterprise-level engineer to join us as a Dedicated Operations Technical Account Manager (DO-TAM) in Huntsville, AL.
  • This is a 100% On-Site Position [not remote].
  • The salary range for this position is $107,980.00 - $172,730.00.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Day 2 OpenShift Operations: Provide hands-on administration, integration support, and maintenance for Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Manage cluster scaling, container networking (SDN/OVN), persistent storage (e.g., ODF), and compute resources to ensure platform stability and successful upgrades.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Red Hat Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support teams to debug, test, and resolve complex issues related to Kubernetes, containers, and operators.
  • Case Management: Manage customer support cases, maintain clear documentation, and deliver value by sharing resolutions and best practices through a defined knowledge
  • Prior experience in a support, engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE) organization, particularly within the public sector or defense environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple cluster environments and projects with an eye for detail and shifting priorities in a high-stakes environment.
  • Provide hands-on administration, integration support, and maintenance for Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Partner closely with Red Hat Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support teams to debug, test, and resolve complex issues related to Kubernetes, containers, and operators.

Requirements

  • Active Secret (or higher) U.S. Government clearance is required.
  • 5+ years of Linux system administration
  • experience, with 3+ years of specific, hands-on experience in Red Hat OpenShift
  • ability to convey complex cloud-native concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280)
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Automation and Integration (EX380), or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

Compensation

  • Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity.
  • Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package.
  • For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
