About the role

  • Keep Utilities and Facilities Managers informed of abnormal conditions.
  • Oversee BAS-related construction and renovation work to ensure quality and compliance with contracts and hospital safety standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections. - Monitor and evaluate CMMS effectiveness for BAS maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Review designs and perform project management responsibilities for building automation systems modifications, additions, and expansions.
  • Train and guide team members around complex activities within own area and address any escalations/ deviations.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all building automation systems (BAS).
  • Coordinate with design firms, oversee construction activities, and support contract development. Ensure high-quality training and commissioning for new systems.
  • Conduct technical assessments to enhance operations and support the BAS Master Plan.
  • Convert Metasys files to graphical formats, train staff on updated platforms, identify new monitoring opportunities, and implement energy-saving initiatives through system optimization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ensure all building automation system monitoring, operations and maintenance complies with policies and procedures, federal, state and local regulatory agency requirements.
  • Act as liaison among FOM, contractors, and building tenants to minimize service disruptions. Develop and recommend preventive maintenance procedures for BAS. Ensure operations meet institutional, regulatory, and safety requirements.

  • Supervise designated staff to complete required activities.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead designated Utility Operations and Facilities Maintenance personnel to accomplish required monitoring, operations and maintenance of building automation systems.

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area (e.g., Administration, Facilities Management, Mechanical) with 4+ years of relevant experience or an associate's degree in related area with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with building automation systems operation and maintenance, preferred.
  • Some experience analyzing complex control sequences and resulting operations, and providing solutions for difficult technical problems.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and fluid flow and the application of mechanical devices used for delivery of ventilation, steam, chilled water, hot water, and humidification.
  • Expertise in hospital policies and departmental procedures, preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in MS software and end-user proficiency in CMMS software.

  • Ability to look at data more critically and draw meaningful conclusions. Conducts root-cause analysis as needed.

Compensation

  • In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St.
  • Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
  • It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
  • A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Sr.
  • This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
