About the role

Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment of new Ambassadors working with team members to promote the program through SciStarter, Idealist.org, and other partner organizations and channels.
- Coordinate purchasing and distribution of volunteer materials (promotional literature, volunteer shirts and badges, give-away stickers, buttons, etc.) to support volunteer events.
- Support team at in-person events (library conferences, recruitment events, etc.) as needed, including local events and events requiring in-state and out-of-state travel.
- Support and troubleshoot volunteer inquiries and issues; support library inquiries as they pertain to the volunteer network.
- Coordinate with front-end and back-end development teams to support improvements to SciStarter's Ambassador web pages.
- Maintain regular communications with volunteers through newsletters, social media, and other channels; respond to inquiries as needed.
- Support other team members activities and events leading up to and during Citizen Science Month, including partner engagement and program execution.
- Support development of new citizen science resources (digital and print).
- Support leadership in executing organizational priorities and improving internal processes.
- The SciStarter Volunteer Network Program Coordinator will take primary responsibility to develop and sustain a network of volunteers who are trained to interface with local libraries and other local organizations to promote awareness and use of citizen science in their communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field
- Bachelor's or equivalent.
- Experience working with volunteer programs.
- Experience in Canva, WordPress, Google Docs, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Driving is not required for this position.
Nice to have
- Experience with Asana is a plus.
Compensation
- $58,000 - $68,000 per year; DOE
