About the role

  • The LSS II tutors in-person and is expected to work with students, faculty, staff, and community members, either one-on-one or in small groups, to help them attain a deeper and more substantial command of the assigned subject matter.
  • The LSS II communicates with the department regarding individual progress and needs for students.
  • This position is responsible for generating reports from tutoring software and sending them to his/her supervisor.

  • Provides support to lead instructors and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Compensation

  • Assists learners in the completion of course requirements, as well as providing basic instruction in the use of digital resources.
  • Maintains order in course-related documents and binders, duplicating items when necessary.
  • Files student submissions.
  • Submits accurate timecard information on a timely basis.
  • Communicates student issues to relevant instructors and/or lead instructors.
  • Reports technology issues to lead instructors and/or appropriate departments. Uses the College's tutoring software as necessary.
