About the role
- Content Producer FOX40 and fox40.com are continuing to expand our commitment to digital first local journalism.
- This requires the ability to respond quickly to breaking news, emails, phone calls, and beat calls.
- This position requires exceptional writing skills, proofreading/copy editing skills, and stellar news judgment, with the ability to react quickly to breaking news.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls from viewers and develop possible story ideas
Requirements
- Degree in journalism
- daily newspaper or news site experience required
- Proficiency in Associated Press style
- Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
- Must be able to work autonomously and be self-motivated
- Must have strong people and leadership skills to work with everyone in the newsroom and station
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends
Nice to have
- live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred
Compensation
- Compensation - $24.00+/hour commensurate with experience and skill level
