- Role Summary As a Solar Installer, you will install residential solar energy systems safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Install mounting hardware, roof attachments, flashing, and weatherproofing to maintain system integrity
- Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and company installation standards
- Perform quality inspections throughout the installation process to ensure workmanship meets company standards
- Document installation progress using mobile devices and job management applications
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ year of hands-on residential solar installation experience
- Ability to install roof-mounted residential solar systems safely and efficiently
- Ability to work on roofs, ladders, attics, and confined spaces in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of residential roofing practices, mounting systems, and proper waterproofing techniques
- Proficiency safely handling power and hand tools, ladders, inverters, panels, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to use mobile devices for documentation
- Proven track record of reliable attendance
- Valid driver's license required
Skills
- Install residential solar energy systems, including array layout, racking, modules, and system components
- Load and unload materials at the warehouse and job site, ensuring all necessary materials are organized and available
- Install and commission solar energy systems according to engineering plans, manufacturer specifications, and site conditions
- Safely operate power tools, hand tools, ladders, and installation equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues encountered in the field
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked company vehicle
- Communicate effectively with crew members, homeowners, and management throughout the installation process
- Assist with new installations and other related duties as assigned
