About the role

The employee in this position is responsible for following the supervisor's instructions in applying herbicides.
Herbicides are applied to control unwanted vegetation without damaging desired vegetation and private property.
Work is performed under the supervision of a licensed supervisor.

Performs skilled herbicide application work at numerous aquatic and terrestrial sites throughout the City of Orlando.
Performs normal and some specialized maintenance in aforementioned work areas.

one (1) year of experience in right-of-way and aquatic herbicide application
Valid Florida Driver's License required.
Valid Florida Restricted Pesticide License in the aquatic and right-of-way categories required.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree
Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree
Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree
Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
