As the company continues to expand its commissioning and energy services practice, they are seeking an experienced Commissioning Project Development Engineer to join their growing team.
About the Position The Commissioning Project Development Engineer is a unique hybrid position that combines technical commissioning expertise with business development and client relationship management.
This position offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership, project management, and consultative sales while working on a wide variety of commercial and institutional facilities throughout the Greater Cleveland area.

Build and maintain strong relationships with building owners, facility managers, consulting engineers, and internal project teams.
Develop customized commissioning solutions that align with client goals for energy efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.
Support proposal preparation, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
Lead commissioning and retro-commissioning projects from initial assessment through testing, verification, and project closeout.
Evaluate HVAC systems, building automation systems (BAS), lighting controls, and other building systems through site investigations and functional testing.
Develop commissioning plans, testing procedures, documentation, and project reports consistent with industry standards.
Perform functional performance testing, trend analysis, and system verification.
Identify operational deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to improve building performance.
Train facility personnel on system operation and support long-term building performance.
Professional development and certification support

Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning, retro-commissioning, building automation systems (BAS), HVAC systems, or energy services.
Experience working directly with clients in a technical consulting or project development capacity.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
