About the role

  • Improves welding management Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Assists in reducing and eliminating waste from operation
  • Monitors and reduces usage of welding consumables through process improvement

Responsibilities

  • The incumbent is responsible for managing and storing site welding records and documents per applicable quality procedures.
  • Optimizes welding processes and welding joint design to improve overall efficiency
  • Reviews and improves the design of product for manufacturability

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in a leadership role
  • The ability to obtain Welding Supervisor accreditation from the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB)
  • The incumbent is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone in personal conversations or meetings.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the shop.
  • The employee is frequently required to move about the shop and site.
  • Employees are required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) for the position.

Skills

  • Bachelors with 6+ years relevant experience or associate's degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous training experience
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
  • The ability to speak and instruct large and small groups, in multiple settings, such as a classroom or shop floor
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)

Compensation

  • Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,250 per year
