About the role
- As a Staff Accountant at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day operational accounting activities for assigned manufacturing and company locations.
- This is a full-time, onsite role located in our Atlas Tube facility in Chicago, IL.
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and is eager to contribute to a growing manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct finance support to plant management and operational teams as needed.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset ledgers, including depreciation schedules and capital project reporting.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage cross charges between assigned companies and other Zekelman entities.
- Support compliance with internal controls and assist with internal and external audits.
- Lead monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics, commentary, and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting or analytical experience, preferably within manufacturing or finance environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
- Generate ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required.
- Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Professional accounting designation or final-year candidate preferred.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
